This weekend the Oakleaf XC team traveled to Boca Raton Florida for the 40th Annual Spanish River Invitational. Boys Varsity finished 18th and Girls Varsity 16th overall! Senior female captain Sierra Barrera finished 6th overall putting Oakleaf High School Cross Country on the map. Sierra also moved to 18th in the state for 4A with an impressive 19:29 and a 25 second PR. Overall the team performed great with 13 PRs and 7 season bests and they persevered through some very hot and muggy conditions.

The varsity girls team is rolling right now! They dropped their team average by over 30 seconds again and moved up a spot in the district rankings. Sophomore, Bailee Blauser is back to being a point scorer and hope she is back to full health soon! Freshman Alex Lincoln was a first time varsity racer and did not disappoint with over 2 minute PR. Junior female captain, Tiffany Cox is Miss Consistent grabbing PRs at every race.

The varsity boys team split came down with Junior male captain Dylan Wydra PR'd with a big season improvement as well as Sophomore, Chase Parker-Vukota. The JV boys crushed it with 3 having PRs over a minute!

The team had a great experience and learned what it is like to travel and race which is going to be critical for districts next month. Next, the team will be at Bishop Kenny for the Katie Caples Invitational this Saturday, September 24th @ 4pm.
